The General Manager of Pilbara Airlines announced the appointment of its Head of Flight Operations, Mr Matthew David Granger.
Matt was with the Royal Australian Air Force for 17 years, including 4 years with the United States Air Force as a Captain and instructor. He then spent 16 years with Cathay Pacific, operating the Boeing 747 and Airbus A330 aircraft. In 2013, he returned to Australia and took up a position with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Perth as the Head of Training and Checking, culminated by 2 years as the Project Officer for the introduction of the Pilatus PC-24 aircraft into their operations.
Matt has a Master of Aviation Management (MAvnMGT) from Griffith University and is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS). With flying experience of over 16,700 hours, and 8,700 hours as command pilot operating Boeing 747, Airbus A330, PC-24, Boeing 707, KC135, C130 and Falcon 900 aircraft.
Matt is active in Legacy and has held the position of President, Fremantle Legacy, and is currently Vice President of Legacy WA.
Matt replaces the existing Chief Pilot of the AOC, Mr John Neal, because of his experience with Airbus aircraft.
