Directors of Pilbara Airlines Pty Ltd have announced the appointment of Ed Turner as the General Manager of Pilbara Airlines.
Mr Turner is an approved Accountable Manager by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority for Australia (CASA) for an Australian AOC.
Mr Turner has been in the aviation industry for over 30 years and lived in Singapore from 2007 to 2016, developing an airline operation between Singapore and Timor. The airline leased Airbus A320 aircraft from Silk Air, part of the SIA group.
In 2016, Mr Turner sold his interest in Air Timor to a Chinese consortium. Prior to that, Mr Turner was involved in establishing numerous charter operations, which were also carried out in conjunction with Silk Air.
Mr Turner is a qualified accountant FCPA and worked with global mining and oil and gas companies in his early career. Mr Turner established and was General Manager of an Australia-wide financial institution that subsequently has become one of Australia’s smaller banks before he branched out into the aviation industry in 1990.
Directors of Pilbara Airlines have instructed Mr Turner to submit a detailed business plan for the airline, including aircraft options, company strategy, routes the airline should initially commence operating to, and financial objectives for the company.
