Position Criteria

Captains

  • You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • You must be eligible to obtain an Australian Security Identification Card (ASIC)

Essential:

  • Australian CASR Part 61 Airline Transport Pilot Licence and a Class 1 medical
  • Current Instrument Rating Proficiency Check, including 2D and 3D approach (circling is not required)
  • A320 type rating (refer to ‘Prescription of Aircraft and Ratings—CASR Part 61 Instrument‘ as amended from time to time)
  • ICAO English Level 6
  • 4500+ total flight hours
  • 1500+ PIC hours to include; 750+ PIC hours on A320 family plus 750+ PIC hours on other jets with MTOW 35,000kg
  • Date of last flight PIC on type within 12 months prior to the date of employment
  • Unrestricted right to operate internationally

Desirable:

  • International airline flight operations experience

First Officers

  • You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • You must be eligible to obtain an Australian Security Identification Card (ASIC)

Essential:

  • Australian CASR Part 61 Commercial Pilot Licence (with an approved course of Multi-Crew Operation training) and a Class 1 medical
  • Current Instrument Rating Proficiency Check, including 2D and 3D approach (circling is not required)
  • A320 type rating (refer to ‘Prescription of Aircraft and Ratings—CASR Part 61 Instrument’ as amended from time to time)
  • ICAO English Level 6
  • 1500+ total flight hours
  • 500 hours on A320 family
  • Date of last flight on type within 12 months prior to the date of employment
  • Unrestricted right to operate internationally

Desirable:

  • International airline flight operations experience
  • Australian CASR Part 61 ATPL and Class 1 medical

Management and Administration

Pilbara Airlines requires experienced and qualified persons in a range of management and administration positions, who believe they can bring past expertise to their new positions.

  • Demonstrated experience within the Aviation/Airline industry is desirable
  • You must be eligible to obtain an Australian Security Identification Card (ASIC) for any operational roles applied for
  • Technical competence across the Microsoft suite, inclusive of Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Well-disciplined with the ability to handle many tasks simultaneously, prioritize and meet deadlines and an ability to self-manage in the event of disruptions and added ad-hoc tasks
  • The ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team with a “can-do” attitude that supports company standards and products
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident

Cabin Crew

  • You must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident
  • You must be eligible to obtain an Australian Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • You must have a valid passport (with more than 12 months validity)
  • You must be able to demonstrate a competent level of English, both written and spoken (ICAO level 5 spoken as the minimum)
  • You must have an Australian Apply/Provide First Aid Certificate for Australian Cabin Crew opportunities
  • You must have Australian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
  • You must be able to commit to a full time role working a varying 24×7 roster to meet operational requirements
  • You must be minimum height of 160cm on flat feet
  • You must not be taller than 197cm
  • You must be able to swim 50 metres and tread water for three minutes, clothed and unaided

Ground Crew

These hands-on positions in our front-line team will see you providing functions associated with aircraft handling, check-in and ramp duties (ground services). The ideal candidates will be energetic and fit with the ability to lift up to *32kg as required (*For Ramp/ Ground Services duties).

We are looking for:

  • Preferred but not essential, 2 years experience in the Airline environment
  • You must be eligible to obtain an Australian Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Experience working in a customer focussed environment delivering multiple tasks simultaneously with excellent time management skills
  • A flexible approach and the ability to manage changing priorities, unplanned disruptions and competing deadlines
  • Well-disciplined with the ability to handle many tasks simultaneously, prioritise and meet deadlines and an ability to self-manage in the event of disruptions and added ad-hoc tasks
  • The ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team with a “can-do” attitude that supports company standards and products
  • The ability to be flexible including working split shifts, late nights, early mornings, weekends and public holidays
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders
